Maximum number of people buy CD or DVD from nearby computer accessories shop but maximum number of these CD or DVD's are old version because they read this DVD one time but sell this for a long run, they doesn't update it again.
So,it is best practice to download your windows from Microsoft's official website for getting your updated version and updated features.
First, Go to Google and search as your required version of windows file like, You want to download windows 8.1 version, For that, Search as 'windows 8.1 ISO file from Microsoft', that's enough,You get results for that, now you need to choose which is from official Microsoft's website,

Now that you need to do for bootable ISO file--->> For better service, just choose a USB 3 pen-drive and minimum 8 GB. You also need a tiny software for bootable it.
There have a lots of software for that but i would prefer "rufus" for bootable your pendrive. After downloading this software, run this and select your downloaded windows ISO file. Next, start to bootable it. It takes 5 - 10 minutes to complete the process. When it will complete, it will be seen as "Done" or "Ready".
